Leaders Welcome
Greetings and welcome to the Church School Literature webpage. This department has been in existence since 1888 and has the responsibility of developing curriculum for use in Zion's Sunday Schools. Helping people of all ages to grow in their knowledge and understanding of the Bible, God's Word is our mission.
We labor to prepare and present the lessons that will challenge the reader and provoke a response of application to one's life as a pilgrim along this Christian journey. The lessons are based on the International Lesson outlines developed by the Committee on the Uniform Series of the Ministries in Christian Education Division of the National Council of Churches.
There have been eight previous editors (Robert Russell Morris, Robert Blair Bruce, George Lincoln Blackwell, J. Francis Lee, Buford Gordon, J. S. Nathaniel Tross, John Van Catledge and Louis J. Baptiste) in this department and I thank God for their contribution of a foundation upon which to build into the 21st century. We invite you to join us in this systematic Bible study to enhance your personal spiritual growth.
The publications include The Beginner Quarterly, The Primary Quarterly, The Junior Quarterly, The Intermediate-Senior Quarterly, The Young People Adult Quarterly and The Church School Herald-Journal.
