If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray,
and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from
heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their
land.
II Chronicles 7:14
Ask, and it shall be given you: seek and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be
opened unto you: For everyone that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh
findeth and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Matthew
7:7-8
For Christians, prayer is vital for a healthy spiritual life. It is our way of
communicating with God. Of course, prayer is not a one-way conversation in
which the believer lists his or her wants and needs. Rather, it is an
opportunity to both speak to and hear from God. Prayer may take on many
forms-supplication, praise, thanksgiving, intercession or even meditation. When
we pray, we do so in faith, trusting that our heavenly Father not only hears
but answers prayer. As we week God's response, let us follow Jesus Christ's'
example and say "thy will be done."
Look for the monthly prayer focus and join the Christian Education Department
in intercessory prayer.
Prayer Focus: September 2008
During the month of September, our pray focus will be centered around learners and learning centers. Let us continue to pray for our schools and school systems. Our students all over the world on every level need God's help to learn, grow and excel. And, our educational leaders need our prayers.
Let us not forget Christian Education week and the importance of the teaching ministry. We are praying that God will continue to empower our educators as they promote the Christian way to live and to lead.
